I appeared again on the Health and Fitness Show of the Sikh Channel (sikhchannel.tv) on a second segment to talk about mental health awareness and how parents/carers can support their children during lockdown. The show was hosted by Ravi Suman and I was joined by fellow guest, Mital Thanki, the CEO of the Spark Academy in Leicester.
It was such a huge honour and privilege to host a special podcast about domestic abuse of men with Andrew Pain, a Tedx Keynote Speaker and High-Performance Coach. Andrew is also a blogger and campaigner, supporting male survivors of domestic abuse and his TEDx talk, 'Domestic Abuse - not a gender issue', is one of the only TEDx talks to explore female perpetrated violence in the home. Andrew eloquently raises several points about the plight of smart, intelligent, educated men who unwittingly find themselves in abusive relationships.
Again, with our very special guest Mustafa Sasmaz, a prominent thought leader and philosopher in his own right, we take a deep dive looking at some practical examples of how the subconscious mind works. In this podcast, I explain how NLP models such as visual, auditory and kinesthetic can be used to communicate with your subconscious mind. We also discuss implications on future actions and behaviour based on understanding these dimensions; hopefully offering plenty of insights for the audience to consider.
It was indeed a great pleasure to have our resident Yoga and Meditation teacher, Satheesh Kumar Thiagarajan, lead a very powerful yogic eye exercise in today's podcast. Eye yoga exercises had existed for centuries and helped many people regain back their natural eyesight. They are easy to do and can be done anywhere and anytime. Eye exercises also let you learn how to maintain optimal eye health such as avoiding eye strain and excessive near-point stress; and keeping the eye moist. It helps us to use our eyes to their fullest capability which is not allowed in our current way of life.
It was indeed a great pleasure and privilege to be joined by Neil Reeves, another Life Coach on a live discussion about topics and subjects which are uppermost on people's minds during the lockdown. In this podcast, we discussed strategies for alleviating negativity whilst trying to work effectively at home without succumbing to boredom, low mood and monotony. In this segment, we are joined by my very special guest, Mr Satheesh Kumar Thiagarajan, a Yoga & Meditation teacher from Jakarta, Indonesia. We discuss the NLP Meta Model and the principles of distortion, generalisation and deletion. We discussed the importance of using this model to promote clear, purposeful and meaningful communication and the importance of aligning our 'deep structures' (thoughts, emotions, feelings) with our 'surface structures' (voice, language and speech). This will enable full, true and artful expression that is aligned to a person's values and life purpose.
